PLEASANT WORDS ARE LIKE A HONEYCOMB,

SWEET TO THE SOUL AND HEALTH TO THE BONES.

(Proverbs 16:24)

A native of Lafayette, Louisiana, Dr. Phil D Mayers worked in his father and mother’s restaurants. He attended Lafayette High School, was a Boy Scout, boxed on his High School Boxing Team,

and played a Piccolo in his High School Band. He studied at Louisiana State University, The University of Southwestern Louisiana, and Loyola Dental School. After practicing General Dentistry for 5 years, he spent 2 more years earning his Post-Doctorate-Degree as a Specialist in Periodontics at the University of Nebraska (Under the tutelage of Dr. Gerald J. Tussing.) He later improved his baking skills at Clark College in Vancouver, Washington. (Under the tutelage of Master Baker Ryan deRuyter.)

At the age of 40, he was awarded a 1st Degree Black Belt in Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan (By 3rd Degree Black Belt Ken E. Marange, and Grand Master Hwang Kee.) At the age of 60 he was awarded a 1st Degree Black Belt in Chun Ki Hapkido (By 9th Degree Master Dan Rogers and Grand Master Han Young Choi.)

In addition to his Dental Practice, for over 20 years, Dr. Mayers, with family and friends, served as Visiting Medical Missionaries in Southern Mexico.
